Dr. Jay Whitehead

Wetaskiwin Optometrist & Eye Doctor

Doctor Jay Whitehead - Wetaskiwin Optometrist, Eye Doctor

Dr. Whitehead joined Doctors Eyecare Wetaskiwin in 2009, shortly after we moved to our new location. He is a southern Alberta lad graduating high school in Fort Macleod. After a two year service mission for his church he attended the University of Lethbridge for his undergrad before heading to Waterloo, Ontario to complete his Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Whitehead and his wife are kept busy parenting four young children Colton (born 2003), Thomas (2005), Larissa (2008) and Connor (2011). He loves spending his time outdoors camping, hiking, playing with his kids, and especially enjoys the beautiful mountain ranges of the Rockies. He has been a volunteer with Scouts Canada for many years and coaches a high school girls rugby team.

Dr. Whitehead feels very privileged  to live in Alberta where he can benefit from the best ongoing professional education available, work with the latest technology and is part of a team of progressive professional staff and colleagues whose mandate is to provide superior eye care to the Wetaskiwin regional community.

He invites and welcomes patients of all ages into the office, and encourages all to have regular eye health examinations.
